Who we are
Our mission
To provide personalised, trauma-informed career support that helps individuals navigate change, overcome work challenges, and build fulfilling, sustainable careers.
What we do
At Balance by Design, we support individuals to better understand their work-related stressors, build capacity, and take supported steps toward a meaningful and sustainable employment. Our approach goes beyond short-term solutions—we work with you to create practical, lasting change that aligns with your values, strengths, and circumstances.
We recognise that everyone's journey is different. For some, this includes building confidence and self-advocacy skills. For others, it may involve identifying the right supports, strategies, or workplace adjustments to create a more sustainable and supportive environment.
Our support includes, but is not limited to:
Support for individuals in roles—past or present—that don’t suit their strengths, helping those at a tipping point navigate work-related stress, disengagement, and career uncertainty
Personalised career development and transition support
Development of professional and interpersonal skills for entering or adjusting to a new role
Support with self-advocacy and referrals to organisations for workplace adjustments or other external support
Career guidance tailored for individuals who prefer quieter, reflective, or non-traditional working styles
We follow recognised professional and ethical standards, including the CICA Code of Conduct and the NDIS Code of Conduct, to ensure our career development supports are safe, respectful, and client-focused.
With the right support, you can move forward with clarity, confidence, and a career that works for you—not against you.
Meet the founder, Stella
Stella Anyaogu is the founder of Balance by Design, a career development service dedicated to supporting individuals wherever they are in their career journey.
Hi, nice to meet you! I’m a career and wellbeing practitioner supporting people who are looking to make a change in their work, including those with diverse and complex needs. I provide practical, personalised support across the career journey—from preparing for work and job searching, to CV and LinkedIn guidance, interview preparation, and building confidence for starting or settling into a new role. I also help clients explore career paths that align with their values and navigate workplace challenges along the way.
On the side, I work with university students across a range of courses—science, social sciences, health, arts, and English language programs—helping them navigate academic challenges, access the support they need, and develop the self-assurance to thrive. I also work with community organisations that support women and gender-diverse people to strengthen their sense of agency, make informed choices, and build capability in work and life, contributing to broader efforts toward equity, inclusion, and personal empowerment.
With a background in career development, recruitment, education services, business development, and strategic, service, and systems design, I bring a broad perspective to career pathways. My holistic, client-centred approach considers not only individual goals but also the systems, structures, and evolving job market that shape them. I help people move forward in ways that are sustainable, aligned with their values, and holistically supportive of their whole life—not just their work.
I’m excited to learn about your journey and explore how I can support you to reach your goals.
